Associate Attorney

Tony Basile

With more than a decade of experience in real estate, water, and governmental law, Tony helps clients protect and maximize their property and resources while guiding their decision-making and long-term strategies. His work spans everything from easements and land transactions to complex water rights litigation — areas that, in Colorado, often go hand in hand. Tony enjoys the unique puzzle each case presents: fitting together the details to craft clear, sustainable solutions. His approach blends responsiveness, creativity, and integrity — keeping clients informed while looking beyond the immediate issue to anticipate future challenges and risks.

Before joining Coaty & Woods, Tony served as counsel for public entities and landowners on water, utility infrastructure, and real estate development matters. He began his career as a judicial law clerk and civil litigator, gaining valuable trial experience that continues to shape his practical, big-picture perspective. Over the years, he has advised municipalities, special districts, developers, and individual property owners, guiding multimillion-dollar projects and resolving complex property disputes across Colorado.

Outside the office, Tony is at home in the Colorado outdoors — mountain biking, gravel cycling, hiking, or skating on Evergreen Lake with his two sons each winter. He and his family are devoted Colorado Avalanche fans. And if you share his love of the West, he’ll tell you reading Lonesome Dove never disappoints.
