Associate Attorney

Jayna Patel

Jayna Patel brings a unique blend of legal insight, analytical skill, and project management experience to Coaty & Woods. Before joining the firm, she supported energy and infrastructure initiatives for the U.S. Air Force, where she coordinated data-driven pilot projects and helped translate complex technical and policy goals into practical solutions. That experience gave her a deep appreciation for problem-solving with limited information — or as she puts it, “baking solutions from bread crumbs.”

At Coaty & Woods, Jayna applies that same clarity and precision to helping clients navigate the legal process. Her goal is to demystify complex matters and ensure every client walks away with a clear understanding of the path forward. She prides herself on providing comprehensive yet simplified action plans, and on being the kind of attorney clients feel comfortable reaching out to — not just for answers, but for explanations.

Jayna earned her JD from the University of Colorado Law School, where she completed certificates in both Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law and Environmental Justice. She also holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from Austin College, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Outside of work, Jayna enjoys all things creative — from painting to playing guitar — and spends some of her free time birdwatching in the Colorado foothills.
